World of Connections China 2019

2019.09.11, Shanghai, China

In ancient China, four great inventions put China ahead of western countries in terms of science and technology. In modern times, however, a gap developed between China and developed countries. At the start of the Internet era, a Silicon Valley-style “copy to China” model was adopted by many enterprises in China. Recently, things have been quietly changing.

Today, China has 21% of the world's Internet users and hosts 7 of the world’s 30 top Internet companies by market capitalization. China is leading the world in many innovative products and business models. For instance, mobile payment makes life much more convenient in China, digital supply chain reform and excellent logistics capabilities have further upgraded Chinese e-commerce, developments in shared mobility and smart transportation are far ahead of the world, and many disruptive innovations have been created in China's developing markets.

Today's Chinese entrepreneurs have become more and more confident in their ability to innovate, and have begun to replicate their models overseas. As the New York Times recently stated, "Now, it's the turn of Silicon Valley to copy Chinese enterprises".

At the World of Connections China 2019 – China Disruptive Innovation Summit, you will find out just how China is changing the face of innovation. We will focus on 5G and developing markets, which we believe will become key driving forces for future innovations.

This year, keynote speakers and panelists joining us will include: Markus Borchert (CEO of Nokia Shanghai Bell, President of Nokia Greater China), Jeffrey Li (VP and Managing Partner of Tencent Investment), Xiaopeng Wang (Partner of Jingdong Huihe Capital), Jun Zhang (Managing Partner of CMCC Innovation Fund), Fei Fei (Managing Director of SAIC Capital), Li Yan and Tao Tang (Partners at Eastern Bell Capital), and more. Other elite entrepreneurs, VCs, industry KOLs, and NGP Capital portfolio CEOs will also join the event. Together, we will explore how to tap opportunities in different industries, with particular concentration on smart mobility, digital health, and education.

As the organizers, NGP Capital and Hundun University are honored to invite you to attend this event at the Shanghai W Hotel on September 11th, 2019.

Join us for an incredible discovery and networking opportunity!
